Yamaha has never really come up on my radar, since I like playing Martin and Guild guitars. But the reviews on this guitar from many sources has been so sweet that I had to try one. Good choice. It plays as fast as a Martin D15 even though it's a basic plain Jane. It has great tone and sustain, and when I got mine, no set up was required, the action was perfect right out of the box. For the price this guitar is going to be a hard one to beat. It's well made, solid, and plays really well. I would probably use it it for a utility guitar, travel guitar, etc, but I would also try it out in the studio for rhythm tracks and the like. Once this guitar gets a few years on it I am confident that it will open up well and sound great.

This is my first guitar and the guitar is great, but learning it can e hard and frustrating. This is a great first guitar so far and it looks great. I am about 6 foot tall 200 pounds and it fits nicely. It may be too big if you are much smaller.
